Mohawk Qualifier Recap

A very compact four-race qualifying session went forward this morning at Mohawk Racetrack

After having made a break due to interference at the quarter pole, Riverwalk got back on gait and rebounded to post a neck victory in 1:58 during the first race. The three-year-old Red River Hanover gelding is trained by Chad Milner and was driven by Sylvain Filion.

Three-year-old Angus Hall colt Make A Promise went first-up on the final turn during Race 2 and trotted off to a three and three-quarter-length victory in 2:00 for driver Rick Zeron and trainer Rob Fellows.

Trainer Duane Marfisi and driver Keith Oliver hooked up in Race 3 with Smiledownonme and emerged victorious. Oliver pulled the four-year-old Grinfromeartoear mare first-over on the final turn and the duo went on to post a one and a quarter-length victory in 1:58.

Oliver was at it again in Race 4 with the Les Fuller-trained Kelso. After having left from the rail, the six-year-old Angus Hall gelding made every pole a winning one and trotted to a 1:58.4 victory, three-quarters of one length the best.
