Conditioned trotter Asa Im Ready has mastered the art of winning in recent weeks for trainer John MacMillan, who watched the six-year-old pick up his fifth win from his last six starts in a Thursday evening assignment at Rideau Carleton Raceway.
Stephane Brosseau hustled Asa Im Ready to the lead from Post 5 in the featured, $6,500 trot and together they led the field through fractions of :27.4, :58 and 1:27. A :30.1 closing quarter was enough for the trotter to score by three-quarters of a length over Goaltender in 1:57.1. Montanablackangel was third.
Sent off as the 1-5 favourite, the six-year-old daughter of Muscle Massive-All Ready Hanover improved her 2020 record to 7-2-1 from 10 trips to the track this season. The lion’s share of the purse bumped her overall bankroll to $33,689.
