Buyers from across the country flocked to Delaware, Ohio from November 12 - 15 for the 65th annual Blooded Horse Fall Sale.

Ohio-bred yearlings were the stars opening day as prominent owner Ed Mullinax purchased two 'Feelin Friskie’s for $45,000 and $32,000, along with a Chip Chip Hooray for $26,000.

“Racing is on the verge of dramatic improvement in Ohio,” Mullinax said. “It’s going to be nice to be able to watch my horses race right here at home.”

Midland Acres’ strong consignment of Feeling Friskies, Chip Chip Hoorays, and Jailhouse Jesses accounted for virtually all of the top selling yearlings.

The balance of the four-day sale was dominated by competitive racehorses.

Don Eash of Indiana and Burke Racing Stable LLC both brought nice groups of good money winners that were ready to drop in the box. Eash’s solid conditioned pacer No Bu was purchased by Rene Allard of Quebec for $35,000, and his ultra-consistent trotter Bound For Fame went to Mark Goldberg of Pennsylvania for $32,000. The Burke Racing Stable LLC consignment was led by Dodger Hanover, a precocious young $25,000 claimer that was purchased by Donald Perkins of Ohio for $31,000. Preferred mare Rockratese went to Ryan Stahl of Ohio on a $30,000 bid, while the good conditioned pacer Patsys Luck was purchased by Chad Foulk of Delaware for $23,000.

Breeding stock was led by the exciting young trotting mare Miss Tequila from the Spring Haven Farm consignment. The Andover Hall daughter from Margarita Miss was purchased by Glen Miller of Indiana for $19,500. Walnut Hall Stock Farm won a spirited battle for the promising young trotting sire Northern Kid offered in an estate settlement at $19,000. Queen Of Queens, the 18-year-old dam of Queen Serene 4,1:51.4 ($748,602) in foal to Here Comes Herbie went to Black Creek Farm for $17,500.
