Dismissed at 18-1, All Heart Gal unleashed a powerful first over move that carried her to a stunning victory in Friday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows
.
All Heart Gal was third down the backside when Aaron Merriman tipped her off the cones and asked her for pace. She gobbled up the leader, Red Star Hottie, and held off the late bid of Mud Pie Hanover to down that rival by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:53. Virtuous Western finished third.
Luis Porfilio trains All Heart Gal, a four-year-old daughter of Allamerican Ingot-Nine Of Hearts, who vaulted over $400,000 in career earnings, and owns with Angela Porfilio.
After a Thanksgiving break, The Meadows resumes live racing on Monday, Nov. 28, with post time scheduled for 12:55 p.m.
