After campaigning exclusively on Prince Edward Island from the beginning of his career until last week, Walter Cheverie and Brian Thompson's Nogreatmischief ($6.60) earned his second win in as many starts in Nova Scotia, wearing down Woodmere Ideal Art in Sunday's (Nov. 18) $1,675 pacing feature at Truro Raceway.
Cheverie, who also trains and drives the seven-year-old Bettors Delight gelding, settled him in fourth early behind Woodmere Ideal Art (RObert Laffin), who controlled early splits of :29.1 and :59.3. Nogreatmischief began his first-over ascent with just over a circuit to go, advanced steadily into a joint second through three-quarters in 1:29.2, and offered outside pressure through the far turn. Turning for home, Nogreatmischief edged past Woodmere Ideal Art and continued on to a half-length win in 1:59.4. Ramblinglily (Todd Trites) held third from the pocket as the even-money favourite.
With his fourth seasonal victory, Nogreatmischief ran his career tally to 24 wins.
