'Chinny' Wins Preferred; Five For Henry

Chinnys Wings notched his third win in a row as he defeated six other Preferred foes in the Friday feature at Western Fair Raceway.

Chinnys Wings rallied three-wide around first over Perfect Vacation past the third quarter mark and wore down the popular pacesetter, Santo Domingo, to win the $15,000 Preferred Trot in 1:59 flat. Pocket-sitter Just One Day closed up the inside to finish one length behind in second with Santo Domingo settling for third.

Chinnys Wings, who won his Oct. 13 Flamboro Downs conditioning assignment and an Open Trot at Batavia Downs on Oct. 26, paid $10.30 to win this time out as the 4-1 fourth choice in the field.

Trainer-driver Doug Bowins co-owns the Armbro Ricochet gelding with Donald Brinkman of East Coulee, Alberta.

The victory was his seventh in 25 seasonal starts and 38th lifetime, lifting his bankroll to $314,262.

Canada's leading driver Trevor Henry continued to dominate at Western Fair with another five-win night. He scored victories aboard Aberarder Smitty ($5.60), Quantum Cashman ($10), Fashion Fun ($4.20), Southwind Califon ($3.50), and Buzzys Goldmine ($15.40), pushing his seasonal total to 444.
