According to a report on standardspeaker.com, a hearing will be taking place tonight in regard to preliminary plans submitted by Mohegan Sun officials which call for an expansion to the existing facilities at Pocono Downs.

The plans, which were submitted last month, include a 300-room, nine-story hotel and a 25,000-square-foot conference centre to be located between the two entrances to the racetrack and casino.

The hearing is to take place tonight at 8:00 p.m. before the Plains Township Zoning Board.

"We always organize a master plan for all potential opportunities," Bobby Soper, general manger at Pocono Downs, was quoted as saying. "It's unlikely every opportunity we plan for will be borne out, but we want to be prepared."
