The second leg of the Dover Downs series for the DSBF pacing colts and geldings got underway Monday with three $20,000 divisions.
Montrell Teague started off the night with a win in the first half of the Daily Double with Schrute (Southwind Lynx-Nikijah) in 1:57.1 over Step On Over (Mike Cole) and Holiday Misguided (Jacob Cutting). The victory made it three wins in a row for the chestnut colt bred and owned by George Teague Jr. and trained by Clyde Francis.
The next division was another repeat winner from last week, DS Heartland (Badlands Hanover-Armbro Cashmere) in 1:54.4 for driver, Art Stafford, Jr. Its Above Me Now (Montrell Teague) was next best followed in third by Casinobags Vincent (Victor Kirby). Bred and owned by Nanticoke Racing and Donna Messick, the pacer hangs his harness bag in the barn of trainer Les Givens.
The third and final division of the night turned saw Heinikin Bythebay (Southwind Lynx-Sally Pansen) repeat thanks to his score in 1:53.4. Driven by Tim Tetrick and trained by Kevin Switzer, the sophomore defeated Johnny Badlands (Corey Callahan) and Itspronounced Jif (Montrell Teague). The homebred is owned by KDK Standardbreds.
The $100,000 final is slated for Monday, Nov. 22.
