Driver Corey MacPherson won the majority of the races on a rescheduled Thursday program at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The Cornwall, P.E.I. driver started the action off in race one and kept on winning, ending with six victories on the 10-dash card.
MacPherson clicked with the Mike Peters-trained Usurper ($15.40) in the opener on a cold, windy evening then followed it up with the maiden-breaking four-year-old mare Allaboutthebet ($9.50) from the Jeff Holmes barn in race two. Battle Of York ($7.10) was a front-end winner in race three for MacPherson and trainer Taylor Doyle while race five had the popular Jay Noye trainee Blue Monk ($2.10) give the driver his fourth win. MacPherson and Holmes teamed up again in race six with Shadows Terror ($2.60) then Sharky ($2.30) was victorious in race eight for the John McGuirk stable to complete the reinsman's six-win day.
MacPherson, who ranks second in the Summerside driver standings this season, now has 43 local wins and 123 overall this year.
In other action, Brookdale Johnny ($8.40) came from the back to win the featured $3,400 conditioned pace in race nine with Paul Langille at the lines in 1:59.1 for trainer Phil Sizer and owners Doug Polley Jr., and Doug Polley Sr., of Amherst, N.S. The four-year-old Rockin In Heaven-Brookdale Gala gelding is now a 10-time winner this year. First Glance (David Dowling) was second ahead of Sauble Attack (Ken Murphy).
