Trotting Features Contested In Philly

Nice Stuff and Presidente Zette were victorious in Harrah’s Philadelphia’s $16,000 trotting features on Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 14).

Nice Stuff has now won three of her last four starts. She won her respective trotting feature in 1:56.3 and just missed equalling her mark, which she set last week. Pilot Dexter Dunn had the Yankee Glide mare well positioned behind lively cover. The mare’s stretch kick enabled her to overhaul the tempo-setting favourite, Christopher Crazo, by one length. The pocket-sitting Michando finished another half-length back in third.

Nice Stuff has proven to be a nice acquisition for trainer Bucky Angle and owners Howard and Joshua Kaufman. She came into their possession in early September and has already bankrolled $24,250 for them.

Presidente Zette conserved ground in the other trotting feature and was able to slip out on the far turn, tip wide, and sail past the field to equal his mark of 1:56.2. The son of Muscle Hill benefited from the well-judged drive by David Miller. The duo recorded a two-length win for owner/trainer Cozette McAvoy.

The program’s fifth race produced the largest win price of the season at Harrah’s Philadelphia. The Tony Morgan-driven Ideal Magic won and returned $195.40 on a $2 win ticket. Ideal Magic’s price beat the previous seasonal high, which was set one month back to the day (October 14), when Always A Diamond fashioned a $117.20 upset.
