Trainer-driver Scott Knight worked out a perfect second over trip aboard Jans Rich Girl to stop Jennas Pass' win streak at nine on Sunday afternoon in the $12,500 Fillies & Mares Open Pace at Fraser Downs

.

Jennas Pass (Keith Clark) entered the race as the 8-5 favourite and was looking to notch her 10th consecutive victory, but went down to defeat in the second race.

Red Star Dana (Serge Masse) established the early lead and put up fractions of :27 and :57 before making a costly break in the stride. Jennas Pass inherited the lead from the pocket and raced to three-quarters in 1:25.4 while second choice Mystic Maiden (Jim Marino) advanced first over from fourth with Jans Rich Girl following that move from fifth.

Mystic Maiden applied serious pressure to Jennas Pass as they entered the stretch, but the rallying Jans Rich Girl unleashed a :28.3 final frame to blow by the top two down the lane. Jans Rich Girl hit the wire in 1:55 flat with Legal Suspensory (Dave Hudon), who enjoyed a three-hole trip, closing up the passing lane for second. Jennas Pass edged out Mystic Maiden for third.

Jans Rich Girl, a runner-up to Jennas Pass in the Miss Cloverdale a few starts back, earned her eighth win of the season in 24 outings for the Sunbury Stables of Aldergrove, B.C. She has banked over $67,000 this year and is just over $1,000 shy of the $200,000 mark in lifetime earnings.

Jans Rich Girl paid $12.60 to win as the 5-1 third choice.
