'Summit' Winners Part Of Allard Triple

Fresh off a wins in the Barrie Ford Summit Series Finals, seven-year-old trotting mare Spurofthehaur and five-year-old trotting horse Striking Lightning turned in another set of winning efforts amidst trainer Rene Allard's three win night Saturday at Georgian Downs

Allard's training triple began in Race 3 with Striking Lightning ($4.70) hanging on to win despite suffering broken equipment. Spurofthehauer ($2.80) then won her sixth race assignment by over three lengths before Allard completed the hat trick with Homerun Hitter ($4.70), who romped to a seven length score.

Allard's brother, Simon, was in the bike for all three wins.

Allard, who is in the midst of a career year, has recorded 309 of his 1,219 training wins in 2011 and is closing in on his first $3 million season.
