Andreios Kardia Delivers At Woodbine

Andreios Kardia took his WEG Circuit win streak to Woodbine Racetrack on Saturday night (November 12), prevailing in the $34,000 Preferred Pace.

Following up a pair of Preferred victories at Mohawk Racetrack, Andreios Kardia and driver Doug McNair collared race leader Evenin Of Pleasure in Saturday's feature event to make it three wins in a row for trainer Jeff Byron and owner/breeder Ina Madill, Innisfil, Ont.

The five-year-old Badlands Hanover gelding followed in third-place while Evenin Of Pleasure led the compact field of five through fractions of :28, :56.2 and 1:23.4. He then kicked home in :28 to prevail by half a length in 1:52.3. Ellis Park finished two and a half lengths behind in third off a pocket trip.

Sent postward as the 3-5 favourite, Andreios Kardia paid $3.20 to win.

He now boasts 11 victories in 23 starts this year with earnings of $113,920.

McNair also drove sophomore pacer Easy Lover Hanover to his fifth straight victory, defeating Nirvana Seelster in 1:51.3, during Saturday's program for trainer Ben Wallace and owner Bradley Grant of Milton, Ont.
