While pacer Arthur Blue Chip is entered in a group of six older horses for Saturday's TVG leg at The Meadowlands, stablemate State Treasurer is not. His trainer, Dr. Ian Moore explains why.

Moore told Trot Insider that State Treasurer, both the fastest (1:47) and richest ($986,960) older pacer of 2015 has been shut down for the year and is enjoying some rest and relaxation in Florida. In his most recent start, State Treasurer made a break and finished sixth in the 2015 Breeders Crown. Moore confirmed that State Treasurer came out of that race without incident.

Trained by Moore for Sally MacDonald of PEI and Paul MacDonald of Toronto, Ont., six-year-old State Treasurer (Real Desire - Ideal Treasure) enjoyed a breakout campaign in the open pacing ranks. He won nine of 19 starts, capturing major stakes over every size of racetrack including his third straight Molson Pace (1:51h), the U.S. Pacing Championship (1:47), the Roll With Joe (1:47.2f), the Mohawk Gold Cup, the Dayton Pacing Derby as well as the 2015 Canadian Pacing Derby at Mohawk Racetrack.

A certain favourite for divisional honours come O'Brien Award voting season, State Treasurer boasts 30 wins from 90 career starts with earnings approaching $2 million.
