Although Itrustyou left from Post 9, he swooped Fred And Ginger from the gate, forcing his rival to endure a tough opening quarter. That may have been the difference late, as the fresher horse had plenty left to score for Dave Palone in a sharp 1:50.4. Fred And Ginger was second by 1-1/2 lengths, while Village Beat earned show.
