New stallions for Ontario and Ohio were announced on Tuesday, Nov. 11 by Dr. J Stallion Management.

Abuckabett Hanover, the 2024 Dan Patch Older Pacing Horse of the Year, will stand the 2026 breeding season at Tara Hills Farm in Port Perry, Ont., for an introductory stud fee of $4,000.

Known for his blazing closing speed and durability, the seven-year-old son of Betting Line-All Tucked Up has earned $2,605,130 in purses and put together a career record reading 24-11-14 in 90 starts, as of press time, while trained by Tony Alagna and Andrew Harris.

Abuckabett Hanover won divisions of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes, Nassagaweya and Champlain as well as his elimination of the Metro Pace. As a sophomore, he won two divisions of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes, eliminations of the Messenger and Adios, and the Simcoe and Tattersalls.

Abuckabett Hanover developed into a top older pacing horse, adding a leg of the Graduate Series, the Mohawk Gold Cup (in a lifetime best of 1:47.2), Brower Memorial, Haughton Memorial, Dayton Derby, Potomac Pace and Fanduel Championship to his resume.

Abuckabett Hanover paced sub-1:50 in just over two-thirds of his lifetime starts and paced 29 sub-:26 last quarters, including two in a blazing :24.4.

The list of horses that Abuckabett defeated in his racing career reads like a who’s who of harness racing superstars: Perfect Sting, Lous Pearlman, Rockyroad Hanover, Tattoo Artist, Linedrive Hanover, Charlie May, Ken Hanover, Allywag Hanover, Little Rocket Man and Ruthless Hanover.

The state of Ohio will welcome world champion Seven Colors in addition to the royally bred Vic Zelenskyy, both standing at Crystal Springs Stables in Millersburg. Seven Colors will stand for $2,500 USD and Vic Zelenskyy for $2,000 USD.

Seven Colors won the 2023 Carl Milstein Memorial at Northfield Park in a dazzling time of 1:48.1, making him the fastest three-year-old of all time on a half-mile track. The son of Stay Hungry also won two divisions and the final of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes and was second in both his elimination heat and final (by a neck) of the Little Brown Jug.

As an older horse Seven Colors won a leg of the Graduate, was second in the Breeders Crown final and showed his versatility winning a 1-1/16-mile leg of the MGM Grand Prix Invitational Pacing Series at Yonkers Raceway.

Trained by Brian Brown and Andrew Harris during his career, the five-year-old pacer has a lifetime summary reading 15-8-8 in 57 starts with earnings totalling $1,259,960.

Seven Colors is a grandson of the Hall of Famer Somebeachsomewhere and he is out of the Bettors Delight mare, Rainbowinthedark, who has sold yearlings for $700,000 and $405,405 and is a sister to double millionaire Bettors Wish.

Vic Zelenskyy, a former $550,000 yearling purchase, is a son of Greenshoe out of world champion Mission Brief. Vic Zelenskyy brings a strong maternal pedigree to the state of Ohio. Mission Brief was one of the greatest trotting fillies of all time, winning 19 of 27 starts while taking a record of 1:50.2f and earning $1,657,399. She has been just as successful as a broodmare. Mission Brief is the dam of this year’s Mohawk Million winner Apex 2,1:51.4 $1,200,447 and Kadena 3,1:51 $287,790, who sold for $1.69 million as broodmare in the recently concluded Standardbred Horse Sale. Out of Breeders Crown winning Southwind Serena, Mission Brief is a full sister to one of North America's top trotting stallions, Tactical Landing.

In a career limited by injury, Vic Zelenskyy displayed extreme speed, winning multiple legs of the Kentucky Sire Stakes and taking a record of 1:50.1. Trained by Marcus Melander, the four-year-old trotter earned seven wins and two seconds from 18 starts while banking $182,507.
