Summer Charm knifed through the sloppy Lightning Lane to capture Wednesday’s (Nov. 11) feature at The Meadows, a $12,000 fillies and mares conditioned pace.
Sent off the 7-5 second choice, Summer Charm zipped to the early lead for Tony Hall but released Sansovina Hanover at the quarter in favour of the pocket. That decision paid off late as Summer Charm had pace aplenty to defeat the first-over Diamondtequilashot by a length in 1:51.4. Sansovina Hanover saved third.
Scott Betts trains Summer Charm, a four-year-old daughter of Bettors Delight and Lover Of Art who now boasts career earnings of $360,150, for Tim Betts, Nick Catalano, Keith Pippi and Brookside Stables.
Hall collected four wins and Dave Palone three on the 13-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows continues with a special Thursday (Nov. 12) card; first post is 12:45 p.m.
