For the second week in a row, Living It Up was assigned the trailing post position in the top $12,500 pacing feature at Fraser Downs, and once again he made it up in the stretch to score the narrow victory.
With Serge Masse picking up the driving duties again, Living It Up got away third while Killean Cut Kid, part of the favoured David McKellar entry, took the lead and carved out fractions of :28.1, :57.3 and 1:25.2.
Masse sent his charge first over down the backside and reeled in the pacesetter in deep stretch for the 1:54.3 victory. Killean Cut Kid finished three-quarters of a length behind with Cash Account (Jim Marino) closing well to nab third-place honours despite suffering broke equipment.
Sent postward as part of the 5-2 third choice entry, Living It Up returned $6.90 to his backers. Stablemate Primary Purpose and trainer-driver Rod Therres finished seventh.
The winning seven-year-old Western Ideal gelding was claimed for $20,000 on Sept. 2 at Fraser by Therres, Jeffrey and Debbie Elchuk and Christopher Stranaghan. He has since made eight starts for his new connections, winning four, including his last three.
The 22-time career winner now boasts a bankroll totalling $139,000.
