MacMillan, who started the night ranked ninth among dash-winning trainers at Rideau Carleton Raceway in 2011, celebrated a hat trick performance starting with Perubydooby’s 1:59.1 tally in Race 3. Gord Brown engineered the winning trip for the rookie son of Peruvian Hanover.

Darrel Coville did the driving behind the MacMillan-trained Good Friend, who front-stepped to a 1:59.4 triumph in Race 7. MacMillan did the wheeling himself in Race 12 behind Grammas Jolly, and the sophomore son of P Forty Seven made a three-wide brush to the top in the late stages the mile en route to a narrow tally timed in 2:01.2.

MacMillan’s overall win total climbed to 71 by the end of the card, while his seasonal earnings jumped to $355,436. He’s sent out 1,141 winners to date, and that’s translated to nearly $7-million in career earnings.
