Still full of fight after a moderate :57.1 half on the lead, Jeffery P thwarted the challenge of Keystone Chaos and scored his 13th victory this year in Wednesday’s $16,000 Open Handicap Trot at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
When Keystone Chaos moved uncovered from third to look Jeffery P in the eye, the six-year-old Full Count-Betty Jean gelding responded willingly to Dave Palone’s urging and downed Keystone Chaos by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:53.2. Just Like Magic was a ground-saving third.
Ron Burke trains Jeffery P, who lifted his lifetime bankroll to $345,961, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Phillip Collura.
Aaron Merriman, Palone and Burke each enjoyed a triple on the 12-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday, with first post at 12:45 p.m.
