Tahiti Seelster romped to a five-length victory despite less than ideal racing conditions on Friday evening (November 9) while keeping her record perfect at the Fraser Downs meet through five Open appearances.
Driven by Serge Masse, Tahiti Seelster overcame her outside post position in the $12,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace as she sprinted to command into a :26.1 quarter over the sloppy track before taking a second quarter breather to the half in :56.2. The 4-5 favourite remained clear on top through three-quarters in 1:24.2 and opened up five lengths on her foes to stop the clock in 1:54 flat. Mach And Roll Baby (Scott Knight) won the race for place over Big Shir (Rod Therres) and four others spread across the track.
A 10-time winner this year, the daughter of Up The Credit has hit the board in all 15 of her starts for an annual income of $71,880. Nelson Craig trains and co-owns the five-year-old mare with Richard Craig.
The victory was the first of three in a row on the program for Masse, who followed up the feature win posing for pictures with his own trainees Last Time To Play and Pureform Pandora.
