On Monday, October 29, Hanover Town Council approved a gaming agreement with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. The agreement will extend the town's status as a willing host community for gaming into the OLG's gaming modernization era.
An article on thepost.on.ca has quoted Hanover Mayor Kathi Maskell as saying that the move is "really great news" for the town.
Hanover is home to Hanover Raceway, which is currently negotiating an agreement with the OLG to be home to slot-machine gaming in the post slots-at-racetracks-program era.
The report has quoted Hanover Raceway General Manager Gord Dougan as saying that he hopes an agreement between the track and the OLG can be reached that will be a "win, win, win" scenario between the town, track and OLG.
