Popular sports broadcaster Jennifer Hedger returned to her hometown of London, Ont. on Saturday, October 30 as the special guest at Western Fair Raceway for the second annual Forest City Pace
.
Hedger, a co-host on TSN’s Sportscentre, made the trophy presentation to Dreamfair Eternal and her connections after the mare's victory in the $167,000 Forest City Pace.
The student of trainer Pat Fletcher was driven on the evening by Chris Christoforou, who was subbing in for regular pilot Randy Waples. Dreamfair Eternal is owned by her breeder, John Lamers.
In an interview with Western Fair’s Greg Blanchard, Hedger related that the highlight of her career so far was this past February in Vancouver at the Olympic Games.
“Interviewing Jon Montgomery who won the gold in skeleton for Canada, that interview when he sort of came through the crowd with a big pitcher of beer and came up to my set. We just had this great interview and the crowd was singing Oh Canada. As a Canadian, it was my highlight and as a broadcaster it was my highlight.”
