Hall Of Fame horseman Keith Clark capped off a successful weekend of racing in Western Canada with a victory in the featured $7,600 Fillies & Mares Open Pace

at Alberta Downs.

Nakednakednaked (Jeff Stone) took control of the field in the fourth race feature and led the way past fractions of :28.4, 1:00.2 and 1:30.2. Nearing the third quarter mark, Clark sent Pretty Promised first up from third and the five-year-old mare soared past the pacesetter at the head of the lane. Pretty Promised was chased home by Western Bee (J.F. Gagne) and Weareverigo (Bill Tainsh Jr.), but she couldn't be caught. Pretty Promised prevailed by one length in 1:58.1.

The daughter of As Promised-L Pretty Tross was claimed for $12,500 on Sept. 10 by Clark and partners Doris McDougall of Cochrane, Alta., and Verne Rea of Calgary, Alta. She has since recorded one third place finish and today's victory.

Clark's recent headline-making accomplishments began on Friday, when he kicked off the Fraser Downs fall-winter meet in Surrey, B.C. with a training-driving triple, and continued on Saturday as his fillies won a pair of Alberta Sires Stakes eliminations at Alberta Downs in Lacombe, Alta.

All 20 of Clark's weekend starters hit the board with a total of six making it to the winner's circle.
