Drew Monti driving the “The Union Boss” made every pole a winning one en route an easy score in the Columbus Day, Rising Stars Pace at Batavia Downs.

Monti, the 18-year-old son of trainer Darrin Monti, left alertly from post-three and cruised to a five-length win in a nice mile of 2:02.3.

Farther back in second was Brittney Ohol. Jami Chatt driving in her first race ever came in third while 15-year-old Jon Mays finished fourth after his pacer made a costly break.

"Events like this bring out people to watch and our numbers showed it," Todd Haight, Batavia Downs GM said. "Even though the weather was much cooler than last year we have a pretty good day."
