Favourites captured two of three $40,000 Indiana Sires Stakes divisions for freshman filly trotters Friday evening, October 7 at Indiana Downs

In the fastest division of the evening, Shes Country and trainer Charlie Conrad held off Sweetasmusic and Walter Haynes Jr. by a neck in 1:59.3. Js Foxy Lady and Josh Sutton trotted third.
Shes Country and Conrad, starting from Post 3, left the gate sixth as Bjs Elegant Image and Peter Wrenn fired to the lead from Post 8. After a :29.4 opening panel, Haynes moved Sweetasmusic from fifth, with the favourite and Js Foxy Lady in tow. Taking the lead briefly as the field reached the half (1:00.3), Sweetasmusic was shuffled to third as Shes Country moved to the top with Js Foxy Lady on the outside. Once in front, Conrad guided the Cincinnati Kid-Kiss Dot Com filly to a two-length advantage at the top of the stretch before holding off Sweetasmusic at the wire.
Bred by Rex and Judy McGinnis, Shes Country has hit the board in 11 of 13 starts, winning five times. The filly is owned by Roselea and Sarah Conrad. Her latest win is the fastest mile to date for Shes Country, who now sports earnings of $88,448.
Heavily favoured Cincinnati Star took control racing to three-quarters and marched away from the field in the opening $40,000 leg, hitting the wire nearly six lengths in front in 2:00.1. Trace Tetrick steered the Cincinnati Star-Eastern Star Two filly to her 10th win in 14 attempts this season. Trained by Steve Carter, Cincinnati Star was bred by Double Spring Farm. A winner of $215,810, the filly is owned by Peggy Carter, Sheila Hummel, Robert Reid and Great American Stables, LLC.
Antie M and Richard Reisert surrendered the lead turning for home, but battled back in the lane to defeat favoured Blueridge Abigail by a quarter length in the second $40,000 split in a time of 2:01.3. Reisert trains the Rocky Balboa-Daisy Jo filly, bred and owned by Richard and Mary Link. The victory, her ninth in 13 starts, pushed Antie M’s seasonal earnings to $103,000.
