If you have ever sat in front of a computer with a vested interest in a horse race, you can relate to the following quote. "In this case, I'll sit in front of my computer watching, and if they're getting close the neighbors will know I'm getting close because there will be some hooting going on."
Those are the words of 65-year-old Dennis Lakomy, who, along with his 42-year-old son, also named Dennis, own Mystical Marker Farm, which will see two of its horses, Swan In A Million and Manofmanymissions compete in Saturday's $600,000 Breeders Crown Two-Year-Old Colt Trot at Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Dennis' comments come via an article on nwitimes.com, which sheds some light on the former CFO of a publicly-traded company. As the report explains, it is safe to say that Dennis is well aware of the slim chances of getting a pair of young trotting colts into an upper echelon event such as the Breeders Crown at once.
Mystical Marker Farms also has a piece of another 'Crown' starter -- Lisagain, who will start from Post 6 in the Breeders Crown Open Pace.
