Alittlesidehustl N won the $20,270 Fillies & Mares Open Handicap Pace for the third time this season at Saratoga Casino Hotel when the Jackie Greene trainee went wire-to-wire on Monday, Oct. 7.
The six-year-old daughter of Hes Watching moved out to the early lead in the afternoon's feature and rolled through fractions of :27.2, :56.2 and 1:24.3 before being met with the challenge of a pair of recent Open winners in Arizona (Wally Hennessey) and Rec Time (Jordan Derue). Their late bids were thwarted by a no-doubt-about-it winner in Alittlesidehustl N as she cruised to a decisive two-length victory in 1:53.1 with driver Billy Dobson in the bike. Arizona, a winner of the Mares Open in her previous start and assigned the outside post here, closed to finish second while Rec Time had to settle for third.
Alittlesidehustl N, who is owned by Kellogg Racing Stables and Jackie Greene Stables, now has three wins in the Open in 2024 to go with 11 second-place finishes on the year from 25 starts.
She paid $5.80 to win as the 9-5 betting favourite.
Live harness racing resumes on Saturday evening with a first post time of 5 p.m.
