American History Upsets In Tattersalls Pace

Trainer Tony Alagna sent out a solid 1-2 punch in the $225,000 Tattersalls Pace, and those stablemates grabbed the top two spots in what turned out to be a blanket finish in the rich affair.

Thinkbig Dreambig marched off the starting gate and set the tempo through fractions of :27.1 and :54.4 before being confronted around the final turn by race favourite Courtly Choice. Those two streaked past the three-quarter pole in 1:21.2, but a host of challengers began firing from the backfield. American History and Andrew McCarthy stormed down the middle of the track to out-muscle stablemate Stay Hungry to the line in 1:48.3. Done Well was a bang-up third.

The three-year-old son of American Ideal-Perfect Touch won for the eighth time this season and for the 11th time in his career. The career winner of $595,845 is owned by Brittany Farms LLC, Marvin Katz and American History Racing.
