OLG Announces 'NHL® LOTTO'

A day after the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. announced a new electronic 50/50 raffle system for use during Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs home games, the OLG has now announced that it is teaming up with the National Hockey League to offer ‘NHL® LOTTO’, an instant, in-store game which also features an evening lotto draw.

On Monday, the OLG announced its new 50/50 partnership between the Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) Foundation and the Ottawa Senators Foundation. In its release, the OLG stated that the change will help Ontario charities raise more money and provide larger prizes for raffle players.

The OLG announced NHL® LOTTO on Tuesday. In its release, the OLG stated that ‘NHL® LOTTO combines an animated, in-store shoot-out instant game with an evening lotto draw, themed with NHL® teams that you get to choose! For $2 per play, NHL® LOTTO gives you a "shot" at winning up to $15,000 instantly in-store and up to $100,000 with the nightly draw.’

The OLG has stated that NHL® LOTTO is the newest addition to the lottery corporation’s ‘Watch 'n Win’ category in which each game features an animated in-store instant win game with a nightly draw, and is the second to utilize a licensed theme along with the already popular WHEEL OF FORTUNE® LOTTO.

For $2 per play, NHL® LOTTO gives you a “shot” at winning up to $15,000 instantly in-store and up to $100,000with the nightly draw.

To play, select your favourite NHL® team that you want as your shooting team or choose a Quick Pick for a random selection of any of the 30 teams. Then, watch the lottery terminal’s Customer Display Screen as your shooter takes three shots at prize targets behind the goalie. If the shooting hockey player hits any one or more of the targets behind the goalie, you win the corresponding prizes of up to $15,000.

With NHL® LOTTO, there’s still more game to play after the instant shoot-out with a nightly Lotto Draw for a chance to win the top prize of $100,000. Choose five numbers or use a Quick Pick combined with your Team selection to match against the five winning Lotto numbers and NHL® team drawn nightly to win prizes up to $100,000. You can win $3 just for matching the NHL® team on your ticket with the one drawn nightly.
