Summer Indian quarter-poled to the lead for Eric Ledford and made the rest look easy in capturing Monday’s $18,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows in a sharp 1:53.3 over a 'good' surface.
Summer Indian allowed his stablemate, Run And Tell Pap, to grab the early lead before unleashing the decisive move. He downed Run And Tell Pap by 1-1/4 lengths, with Count Me In third.
Ron Burke trains Summer Indian, a four-year-old Majestic Son-A Touch Of Frost gelding who vaulted over $300,000 in career earnings, for Burke Racing Stable LLC, Jack Piatt III, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and RTC Stables.
