Zeron Seeking First Crown Trophy

This Saturday at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, Canadian trainer/driver Rick Zeron will be looking to capture his first Breeders Crown victory. His ticket to victory lane rests on the shoulders of a filly named Lady Rainbow

.

The two-year-old daughter of Muscles Yankee was victorious in her elimination last week, stopping the teletimer in a career-best clocking of 1:56.4.

A $40,000 buy back from last year's Harrisburg Yearling Sale, Lady Rainbow has hit the board in all five of her appearances while banking $104,302 in the process.

"In the post parade [in her elimination] she was trotting sound and wasn't coming close to hitting her knees,” said Zeron. “The surface at the track [Pocono Downs] is red clay and she really adapted to that quick. My filly has a wicked half-mile in her, and where I was sitting at the half I was pretty confident. If she keeps her mind on her business and I don't do anything wrong then I'm pretty sure we'll be getting out picture taken."

Zeron, an Oakville, ON native co-owns the miss with The Camel Club Stable, Rojan Stables and Herbert Chambers.

Lady Rainbow begins from post two in the third race on Saturday, with post time scheduled for 5:56 p.m.
