LGs Reed O Wen ($5.40, Jim Morand) and Just Pump It ($20.60, Art Stafford Jr.) each won their respective $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) two-year-old finals Wednesday (Oct. 6) at Harrington Raceway.
A new track record for two-year-old trotting geldings was set when Nanticoke Racing's LGs Reed O Wen marched to the front from post position seven and never relented in a seven-length romp over Canoe Trip and Wolfpack Russ, registering a lifetime best of 1:59.4. The Anders Bluestone-Can A Daa gelding notched his fourth win in six career starts for trainer Les Givens. The old track record of 2:00.3 was held by Egosnattitudes (2014).
In the filly trotting final, Art Stafford and Art Stafford Jr.'s Just Pump It led most of the way despite post position eight and was a one-length winner in 2:03 over Our Last Penny and Miss Timber Wolf. The CR Commando-Alot Of Pump filly registered her second lifetime win for her trainer-driver and co-owner Stafford Jr.
In the $15,000 consolation for colts and geldings, Brenda Teague’s Tua ($3.40, Montrell Teague) was a 2:02.1 winner.
Live racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule until Oct. 20. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
