The first drivers' title at Hippodrome 3R is still anybody's race. With two cards remaining, including this Sunday afternoon's program, four drivers are one win apart at the top of the standings.
Denis St. Pierre and Yves Filion have nine wins apiece and Simon Allard and Jocelyn Gendron have eight after eight programs.
While Filion has no drives scheduled for Sunday, Allard has six, Gendron four and St. Pierre three.
To add to their totals, however, they'll have to overcome a local legend. Native son Daniel Dube, 42, will be in from the U.S. for a guest appearance Sunday at the track where he learned the ropes as a driver. And he's down to drive in seven races, including the $12,000 Preferred Pace, where he's scheduled to steer Stonebridge Cowboy.
