Jo Ann Looney-King's Purrfect Bags was a repeat winner in Tuesday's $16,500 Filly and Mare Open at Harrington Raceway in 1:54.
Springforth, the 3-1 second choice, set all the fractions in the compact five-horse field, but could not hold off a fierce late charge in the three-path by race favourite Purrfect Bags (Victor Kirby) who was a head better than Springforth. Miss Me Yet was third.
Purrfect Bags, a daughter of Roddys Bags Again, registered her 24th career win for her owner/trainer King. The win also pushed Purrfect Bags over $106,000 in seasonal earnings. She paid $2.40.
Tony Morgan had four wins on the program. Kirby, Montrell Teague and Allan Davis each had a double.
