It has been reported that the office of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford supports the idea of casino expansion downtown in the city, but is also interested in expanded gaming at Woodbine Racetrack.
An article by the Toronto Star explains that an email sent to Toronto councilors from Ford's office states that if a casino is constructed downtown, Toronto would receive "significant new revenues to fund the City’s programs, services and capital needs."
Reportedly, the email also states that the city will not receive any new revenue if the casino is built elsewhere.
The Toronto Star article also explains that the email 'suggests' that the best scenario for the city would be to have a casino erected downtown and gaming expanded at Woodbine.
