Bartlett To Represent U.S.

The SOA of New York proudly applauds the USTA's decision that Yonkers Raceway's own Jason Bartlett has again been named to represent the United States in the upcoming World Driving Championship to be held in June of 2013 in the 'City of Lights.' While Paris, France is far removed from the Yonkers venue, where the talented Bartlett plies his trade on a nightly basis, he doesn't lack experience in these events.

He was chosen to represent the U.S. in Norway in 2009, and after adopting to the somewhat different style of European racing, with varied distances and directions, he managed a credible sixth-place finish. In 2011, he was again chosen to represent the U.S., when the World Championships were conducted on more familiar turf, but an auto accident on the fourth of July sidelined him, and the very capable Corey Callahan jumped up in the riggin' to manage a second-place finish to Canada's talented Jody Jameson.

Bartlett, a three-time Yonkers driving title winner, is a Maine native who now resides in Goshen, New York with his lovely wife, Kristen, and two young sons, Kobe and Karter.

Bartlett was among the many deserving and able candidates, who were considered by the USTA. In his career, Bartlett has driven his mounts to $45 million in purse earnings and has 4,581 wins under his belt. His talents are sought after by many able trainers such as Linda Toscano and a host of others. Multiple-win evenings are not uncommon for Bartlett, who also unselfishly gives much of his time in aid of the track's various publicity ventures, like the ESPN TV commercial --- and, perhaps more reflective of the man and his character, Bartlett devotes time to charitable endeavours most recently helping in the Westchester County Food Drive.

When asked if he was excited about going to the City of Lights for a rematch, Bartlett's face lit up, and he said, "I'm really jacked up big time about this great opportunity and want to thank the USTA for giving me another go."

With his talent, the Thurman Munson Award winner will not disappoint his Yonkers' Raceway fans or the game itself.

The SOA of NY wishes him the very, very best on behalf of an entire industry.
