Scott Young supplied Justalittleluck with a two-hole ride in Monday’s $15,000 Preferred Pace at Western Fair Raceway, and the gelding took full advantage of it en route to pulling off a 9-1 upset in a time of 1:54.3

.

Justalittleluck, who had the pole position to work from, stalked race favourite Part Shark through fractions of :27.4, :57.1 and 1:25.4 before using a :28.2 closing panel to haul down the public’s top choice by a nose. Acceptable Risk came on strong to be a lapped-on third in the eight-horse affair.

Trained by Kim Bakker for owner/breeder Martin O’Toole of London, ON, the five-year-old son of Northern Luck-Sunnie Corelone improved his 2011 record to 4-5-4 in 24 starts while pushing his lifetime earnings to $142,923.
