According to a report by Harness Tracks of America, a bill was passed yesterday in the Michigan house which would see $2.5 million restored to the office of the racing
commissioner, which was recently slashed by the governor as a cost-cutting measure.
The house approved the bill by an overwhelming 105-1 vote.
The bill, which faces senate approval, also restores some purse monies that can help the state tracks, particularly the county fairs, stay afloat.
