Gty Stable's Gaitway Guy was the fastest of four Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund winners Monday at Harrington Raceway with a 1:57.3 triumph in a $20,000 second leg division for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings.
Trained by Jeff Smith, the Delmarvalous gelding was under confident first over handling by Corey Callahan before clearing the lead near the three-quarters and winning by nearly 10 lengths over Luck Is A Lynx and Nottes Mist. Gaitway Guy paid $2.10 to win.
It was one of three straight wins with Callahan on the card as he went on to win the next two races with Ocean Ridge N ($7.80) and Aberdeen Hanover ($5.40).
In the remaining DSBF divisions, a pair of Southwind Lynx sons prevailed in George Teague Jr. and David Collins' Ajayi ($2.40, Montrell Teague) in 1:59.3 and Cynthia Collins and Chris White's Showdown Lynx ($28.40, Ross Wolfenden) in 1:59.
Meanwhile, Night Terror ($5, Roger Plante Jr.) completed a sweep of his eliminations with a 1:58.2 score for Leblanc Racing, William Lutz, Count De Money Stable and Ronald Jones. The Badlands Hanover colt set all the fractions in his fourth win of the year for trainer and co-owner Leblanc.
George and Tina Dennis' Mack ($3.40, Mike Cole) won the $17,500 overnight feature, in 1:53.4. The Joe Columbo trainee recorded his fourth win of the year. It was the second win of three on the card for Cole, Columbo and Dennis. Wolfenden also had a driving triple.
