The Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association (GLADA) continued its year-long series with two divisions at Northfield Park on Saturday night (Oct. 3), and when the races were declared official Larry Ferrari and Lauren Harmon each emerged victorious in their respective divisions.

In his split, Ferrari took no prisoners when he sent Mesmerized to the lead from post 2 and rebuffed any and all challenges.

After gaining command, Ferrari got his trotter by the quarter in a relatively soft :29 and was clear on the lead by the half in :59. When Marvin Raber moved Azucar off the pylons as the field headed to the halfway point, Daniel Jones followed with Dont Forget Muscle and ranged to challenge the leader. But when the field headed for paydirt Mesmerized hung tough and kept Jones' charge at bay to hang on for a head victory in 1:57.2. Azucar took third.

A gelded son of Cantab Hall owned by Kennedy Sports LLC and trained by Clair Umholtz, Mesmerized paid $12.00 for win.

In the other split, 20-year-old Lauren Harmon and Stardust Memories were decisive winners.

After parking High Blue in a :27.3 first quarter, Harmon kept the pedal to the metal and had Stardust Memories in complete command as they showed the way by the half in :57.2. From there it was catch-me-if-you-can and nobody could, as the veteran Cantab Hall gelding began to open daylight on his competition. Stardust Memories cruised to an eight-and-a-half length victory in 1:56.1. Warrior Way came from far back to finish second for Eddie Miller and Jackie Goldstein, with Michelle “the Belle” Ruvola at the controls, finished third.

Owned by the Pod Stable and trained by Jessica Millner, Stardust Memories returned $14.00 to win.
