Sauble Attack illuminated the toteboard with a $32.30 payoff in the $5,100 Preferred 1 Pace on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

Sauble Attack stalked the pace from third through splits of :28 and :57, started his rally en route to three-quarters in 1:26, then uncorked a :28.1 closing panel to chase down pacesetter Doc Awesome (David Dowling) to prevail in 1:55. T H Boomtown (Gilles Barrieau) closed for second over Doc Awesome.

Sauble Attack, a seven-year-old son of Bettors Delight-Ambrosia Seelster, delivered as the longest shot on the board for trainer Paul Biggar of Tyne Valley, P.E.I., who co-owns the gelding with Donald Callbeck of Summerside, P.E.I. Ken Murphy engineered the winning trip as Sauble Attack raised his career totals to 27 wins and $139,477 in earnings in 123 starts.

The late sub-feature was another Murphy victory as he steered Rose Run X Con ($4.60) to a 1:57.2 front-end score by 1-1/2 lengths for trainer Nicholas Oakes. The Mcardle-Stirling Delilah gelding is owned by JD Racing Inc. of Cornwall, P.E.I. He repelled the bids of Howmac Maximus (Paul Langille) and Howmac Exclusive (Corey MacPherson), who were second and third, respectively.

The Oakes stable doubled on the night, with Doctor Grenfell ($2.90) and driver Barrieau taking a pocket ride to a 1:56.3 victory for owner Milton Young of Paradise, N.L. in the 10th race.

Barrieau scored a driving triple on the 15-race program. The trio consisted of Doctor Grenfell, Twin B Betonit ($3), whom he trains, in a 2:04.2 debut score, as well as Brokeandoutofgas ($2.50) in a snappy 1:55 for owner-trainer Tammy Collings.

Marleys Boy ($4.80) timed it right in the seventh race, circling horses to win in 1:58.1 for trainer Earl Watts to start a Langille driving triple. Langille then won with 14-year-old veteran Well Did ($4.30) in 1:57.4 in the ninth race and Good Omen ($2.10) in a blowout victory in the 11th in 1:56, both from his own stable.

Live racing continues on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. at Red Shores Charlottetown.
