So Diva ($2.60) and driver Leon Bailey won the featured $7,000 Fillies & Mares Open 2/3 Pace at Vernon Downs on Friday (Oct. 29).
So Diva took the early lead but Jericho Diva (Justin Huckabone) went on by and led to the first quarter in :26.2 followed by a half in :56.3 and three-quarters in 1:26.4.
As they made the turn for home, So Diva popped the pocket and battled Jericho Diva for the lead. So Diva was too strong and went on by to win easily in 1:54.1. Jericho Diva had to settle for second as Lady Dudette (Claude Huckabone III) picked up third money.
So Diva is a three-year-old filly by So Surreal. She is owned by Morrisville College Foundation Inc., and trained by Kerin Warner. The win was her 10th win this season from 24 starts. She now owns 12 career victories.
Bailey and Warner both had doubles on the card. Baily earned his other win with Side Hustle ($6) while Warner scored another victory with Twisted Betty ($8.10).
Chris Long had a driving double he combined with Warner to win with Twisted Betty and was first with Nashurallability ($4.90).
Justin Huckabone had a training/driving double. He picked up wins with Catherinesdiamond ($7.50) and Yankee Peddler ($4.70).
