Palone Wins Seven At Meadows

Dave Palone, North America’s all-time “winningest” driver, padded his career total considerably Tuesday at The Meadows when he drove seven winners on the 15-race card.

While three of the victories were for trainer Ron Burke, Palone also notched a win each for conditioners Paul Kennedy, Tye Loy, Tim Twaddle and Clay Faurot, Jr. Most of Palone’s winning horses were heavily supported — the “Palone Factor,” as it’s known locally — but he did score with Twaddle’s three-year-old gelding trotter Woody at 6-1.

Among Palone’s wins was the featured race, a $13,500 conditioned pace taken by Roll On in a sharp 1:51. Burke trains the five-year-old Rocknroll Hanover-Please Me Please gelding for Burke Racing Stable LLC and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
