Taking another step towards divisional honours among the Illinois-conceived and foaled two-year-old trotting filly set, James Bafia, Eugene White and Samuel Daddono’s Trot Fudge Sundae cruised to her 10th win in 12 career starts on Sunday night at Balmoral Park.

The miss captured the $46,500 final of the Violet Stakes by two lengths in 1:58.3 for driver Dave Magee.

Having floated away from Post 6, Magee had the daughter of American Native--What A Joy sitting third on the outside as Powerful Goddess (driven by Mike Cox) sped through the opening quarter in :29.

Working her way to the front as the fillies continued their journey down the backstretch, Trot Fudge Sundae grabbed control of the proceedings before the half-mile mark and lead the field of nine through middle splits of :59.2 and 1:29.4.

Drawing clear of a heavily-favoured but first over Little Ms Chrissy (Robert Taylor) and the pocket sitting Powerful Goddess in the lane, the Dirk Simpson-trained miss was never in any real danger as she cruised home in :28.4 to secure the victory. Little Ms Chrissy held on to be the bridesmaid while Powerful Goddess was third.

Sent off as the 8-5 second choice in the wagering Trot Fudge Sundae returned $5.20, $2.40 and $2.10.
