The unbeaten streak is now five for three-year-old trotting colt Lightning Thor, who stepped to a new lifetime mark at Woodbine Racetrack on Thursday night

.

Purchased as Hand It Over for $150,000 out of the 2007 Black Book Yearling Sale by Glenn Berger, who races as Lightning Stable of Roosevelt, New Jersey, Lightning Thor didn't race at 2 but debuted earlier this year at Indiana Downs. He broke his maiden in that late July outing in 2:00.

Tonight, in rein to Canadian trainer Rick Zeron, Lightning Thor settled away early in fourth while Hour Lavec (Jody Jamieson) fronted the field through a :27.1 first quarter and :57.3 half. Right after the half, Zeron and Jamieson had their three-year-olds eye-to-eye with Jamieson looking like he had won the battle as they passed three-quarters in 1:26.1 and hit the top of the stretch. An undeterred Lightning Thor eventually battled back and wore down the pacesetter by half a length in a sharp 1:54.4.

Lightning Thor (Andover Hall-Megavite) is now 5-for-5 lifetime with $28,500 earned.
