Itll Be Fine was a repeat winner in the $10,000 Preferred Handicap Pace on Friday night (Oct. 27) at Fraser Downs, prevailing off a pocket trip this time out.
After leading all the way last week, driver Kelly Hoerdt worked out a perfect pocket trip for 4-5 favourite Itll Be Fine in the featured finale, downing the quick-leaving longshot leader, Mach Steady (John Abbott), off fractions of :27.4, :57.1 and 1:25.1 to win by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:53.3. Mach Steady settled for the runner-up role for the second week in a row and Sunshine Boy (Scott Knight) edged out Waitin Ona River (Kevin Anderson) in a show photo.
Owned by trainer Rick Lancaster and Leslie Godlien, Itll Be Fine has doubled his career win count during his current campaign, bringing his total to 14. He's banked nearly $60,000 from 25 starts this year with seven wins and 11 other top three finishes while his career bankroll has climbed to $143,207.
