Tuition Money Mows In Preferred

With a first-over sweep towards the lead, Tuition Money overtook pacesetter Bestofthebunch to best the bunch in the $6,000 Preferred Pace at Leamington Raceway on Sunday, Oct. 28 over a track rated 'good.'

Tuition Money sat fourth to the quarter while Bestofthebunch led through the first panel in :29.4. He then opened to a three-length lead heading to a 1:01.1 half as pocket-sitter Njs Trick Pistol chased from second and Tuition Money began his first-over pursuit from third.

Bestofthebunch’s lead shrank to a length and a half past three-quarters in 1:33.3 and Tuition Money drew closer on the outside. The two matched strides into the lane until Tuition Money pulled a half length ahead of Bestofthebunch to win in 2:04.1 while Njs Trick Pistol held third.

A four-year-old gelding by Real Desire out of the Modern Art mare Amarillo Sky, Tuition Money competes for owner Bill Collins. He won his seventh race from 25 starts this season and his 12th from 74 overall, earning $62,185. Marc St. Louis Jr. drove the $9.80 winner for trainer Danielle Neil.
