Boy Meets Girl K rebounded from a costly break in stride in last week's Indiana Sires Stakes Gold Final to win Friday night's $78,800 Circle City division for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings at Indiana Downs.
Boy Meets Girl K converted a pocket trip into a 1:59 victory in his stakes event with Ed Hensley working out the winning trip. Owned and bred by Robert Key of Pennsylvania, the Star Challenge-Pleasures Maiden prevailed by three-quarters of a length over Mr Jesse and Longwell while fellow Jim Arledge Jr. trainee Dreams Of Thunder broke stride early on and finished last. Favourite Mystical Dew also made a miscue taking himself out of contention.
Fresh off a victory in an Indiana Sires Stakes Silver Final, Jessie E delivered as the favourite in the $79,400 Circle City division for two-year-old trotting fillies. Driven by Trace Tetrick for trainer Steve Carter, the Jailhouse Jesse-Marty E miss won by three lengths in 1:59.2 over Blizzard Warning and Kendall Marie. She is owned by Ohio's Peggy Carter, Robert Reid, Sheila Hummel, and Great American Stables LLC.
The Circle City continues Saturday night at Indiana Downs with divisions for the two-year-old pacers and three-year-olds.
