Kiera Seelster enjoyed some success during her sophomore campaign, but her qualifying effort on Friday, Oct. 25 at Woodbine Mohawk park would appear to indicate that the best is yet to come.
A $52,000 London Classic yearling from the 2022 sale, Kiera Seelster posted six wins from her 16 sophomore starts through to the end of August. After a few months away from the track, the Sportswriter - Keystone Tiffany filly returned on Oct. 18 with a solid mile. She was more impressive in her Friday test.
With Jonathan Drury at the lines, Kiera Seelster sat the pocket behind Flip The Script (Brett MacDonald) for the first half of the mile and then uncorked a :55 back half, punctuated by a :26.3 final quarter, for a 1:54 lifetime best effort. Flip The Script finished second, back 1-1/4 lengths.
Larry Delellis of London, Ont. owns three-year-old Kiera Seelster, conditioned by Gerry Merner. Based on her $27,325 in earnings, Kiera Seelster fits the upcoming Ontario Sired Harvest Series for fillies that starts on Friday, Nov. 7 at Mohawk.
